Frequently Asked Questions

How does coaching work?

Coaching focuses on your experiences, your goals and how your neurotype works. We explore what makes life easier for you, build strategies that match your strengths and test them in real time so you can keep what works and adjust what does not.

How often are sessions?

Most clients find that fortnightly sessions create the best balance between learning, reflection and energy. You can choose what fits your life and your capacity.

Why neurodiversity coaching instead of general coaching?

Neurodivergent brains process the world differently. Strategies designed for the majority population often do not translate. Neurodiversity coaching helps you understand your neurotype and create systems that match it.

How many sessions will I need?

People typically work with me for 10 to 20 sessions. Access to Work or employer funded coaching will specify a set number. If you are self funding, the number is flexible.

Do I need a diagnosis?

No. I work with people who are diagnosed, self identified or unsure. What matters is your experience and what you want support with.

Do I need a referral?

No referral is needed. You can contact me directly.

What if I do not connect with the coach?

The relationship between coach and client matters. I always aim to create an environment where you feel safe, respected and understood. If something does not feel right, we can talk about it openly. You have full choice.

How much does coaching cost?

Self-funded coaching starts from £95 per session. Access to Work or employer funded sessions require a personalised quote.

How do I pay?

Payment is made by invoice and bank transfer. For self funded clients, payment is made ahead of the session.

What if I need to cancel?

Life happens. I ask for as much notice as possible. Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours notice may be chargeable.

What language should I use around autism and ADHD?

I use identity first language because it aligns with many autistic and ADHD communities. You are always welcome to use the language that feels right for you and I will follow your preference.

Does neurodiversity only refer to autism and ADHD?

No. Neurodiversity includes all brains. Neurodivergent refers to people whose neurotype is less represented in the population, such as autistic, ADHD, dyslexic, dyspraxic and others.
